One point is that the selected mesh size is reasonable. Each vibrating screen has a processing capacity of 50L/s, which is because the conditions for testing the processing capacity are based on national standards: a 60 mesh sieve is selected, the mud is weighed at a specific gravity of 1.8. The mud viscosity is determined by the presence of different particle sizes of river sand in the mud.
Due to the rapid drilling of the surface layer, a large amount of solid phase is generated that occupies the effective screen area, so the vibrating screen cannot use a fine screen in shallow well sections. Therefore, in the early stages of drilling, larger mesh screens should be used, as the drilling depth increases, finer mesh screens should gradually be used.
Secondly, the formation mud conditions affect the processing capacity. Due to the insufficient dissolution of the drugs added to the drilling fluid the paste on the sieve, serious slurry leakage may occur. The drug should be fully dissolved before use, a larger mesh sieve should be used. On the other hand, when drilling into loose sandstone quicksand layers, sand particles are prone to getting stuck in the sieve holes, causing screen blockage.
