When drilling into the target layer, in order to protect the oil gas reservoir, a special drilling fluid is often used for drilling, which is called completion fluid. Common completion fluid additives include Carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, polyacrylic acid derivatives, polyanionic cellulose, etc.
The commonly used drilling aids currently include:
1. Humic acid salts
Humic acid (HA) is a kind of aromatic polymer compound, which has the functions of water loss reduction, high temperature resistance salt resistance. After Humic acid reacts with KOH solution, Humic acid potassium (KHm) containing HA can be obtained by extraction.
2. Polymer class
Polymer drilling aids are mainly produced through condensation copolymerization reactions of ethylene, propylene, other olefinic monomers, are widely used in non dispersed mud.. Common products include PAC, acrylic copolymers, instant PAN. PAC is generated by neutralization reaction between Aluminium hydroxide hydrochloric acid. Due to the strong covalence of aluminum atoms in Aluminium chloride, PAC with different polymerization degrees can be generated under different conditions. PAC flocculent has fast formation, good activity, wide pH adaptability, is conducive to oil-water separation. Due to the ability to add various hydrophilic hydrophobic groups such as amide, hydroxyl, sulfonic groups to the carbon chain, acrylic copolymers have a wide range of product properties outstanding salt resistance.
The application performance of polymer products is closely related to the degree of molecular polymerization. Due to the long molecular chains contained in the molecules, their macroscopic performance is characterized by good shear dilution performance thermal stability. Therefore, these additives have good temperature resistance.
